Lucy Boxes
At Wednesday 3rd February's discussion group Victor told of a new activity when you are exercising by walking your local area. Its 'I spy Lucy Boxes', which are street furniture used to house electrical terminals for tramways, electrical street light terminals or as electrical junction boxes. The older boxes are of cast iron. You can see the history and details of these boxes, sometimes known as pillars, on the web site http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/articles/lucy/lucyboxes.htm
Next time you are out walking and spot a Lucy Box take a photo and let Victor know via library@nwkfhs.org.uk
