Zoom Talk with Debbie Bradley: The impact of the Settlement Act of 1662 and what it meant for our ancestors

The Act was introduced to determine which parish was responsible for providing poor relief to individuals in need.

In this talk, Debbie will look at the Act and its requirements. She will explain what our ancestors needed to do to claim settlement and the other documents involved, and highlight the valuable genealogical information that can be gleaned from these records.

Debbie is a professional genealogist and speaker now based in Norfolk, but is originally from London. With over 20 years of experience, her interest in family history was first sparked by a chance remark of a family gathering and sparked her passion for uncovering the past for herself.

Debbie holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde and is a Member of AGRA.
