Talk: "The lady codebreakers of Bletchley Park" by Ian Thompson
Location: Otford Village Memorial Hall, High Street, Otford TN14 5PQ (adjacent car park is free in the evening).
Over nine thousand women called Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire home during WW2.
Daily, they decoded messages about upcoming attacks, learned about the Nazis' plans and ultimately read the communiqués that revealed the Germans' fear of defeat.
Yet these unsung heroines -who included Kate Middleton's grandmother - couldn't tell anyone about their critical contribution to the war effort.
The Branch Annual Meeting will also take place.
Free to NWKFHS members; non members are asked to make a token donation of £1 - £2 towards costs of hall hire and speaker.
